AZUSA, Calif. -- For only the second time in program history, Azusa Pacific football will be televised locally on a commerical station when KDOC-TV (channel 56) of Orange County broadcasts the Azusa Pacific-Carroll game Saturday (Oct. 2).

The game, which features No. 1-ranked and 2-time defending NAIA champion Carroll College of Helena, Mont., against No. 7 Azusa Pacific, kicks off at 6 p.m. in Cougar Stadium in Azusa. KDOC-TV will air the game on a 2-hour delayed basis beginning at 8 p.m. Saturday evening.

The only other previous Azusa Pacific football game aired on local television was in 1998 when Fox Sports West picked up the NAIA championship game between Azusa Pacific and Olivet Nazarene University (the Cougars won, 17-14).

Omega Television of Helena, Mont., is producing this week's game for live broadcasts in parts of Montana, Idaho and Wyoming. KDOC-TV is picking up Omega's feed for the local broadcast.

Both teams enter Saturday's game with 4-0 records. Carroll, which is making its first-ever visit to Azusa Pacific, brings with it the nation's longest collegiate football winning streak at 23 games.
