AZUSA, Calif.-- Head coach Dave Blomquist has announced the commitments for the 2012 recruiting class for the Azusa Pacific men’s soccer program. The Cougars have received commitments from five players, although Blomquist expects that number to grow before all is said and done.

“I’m very excited about the guys that have committed so far. These five players are all very accomplished and will continue to strengthen the program, and are all fine young men who will add to the overall community at Azusa Pacific,” said Blomquist.

The class is incredibly balanced with three midfielders, one defender, and one attacking mid to add to a roster that made it to the NAIA National Tournament final site last season.

“With the five players we have balance of attackers, midfielder, and defenders. I think they will immediately add to the quality and depth of the side,” said Blomquist. “I’m really excited about these guys...we’ll be looking to add a few more over the next few months to finish up the recruiting class, but these five guys really add to the program.”
