The 6-2 forward from Moscow, Idaho, was instrumental in leading the Cougars to 3 straight road wins over NAIA Region II foe Notre Dame de Namur, Concordia (Ore.) and then-No. 9-ranked Simon Fraser (B.C.).
He finished the week with 2 goals and 2 assists. In a 4-0 win at Notre Dame de Namur, Leibbrandt assisted on Christopher Roberts’ first collegiate goal in the 31st minute and then scored an unassisted goal of his own in the 72nd minute to give the Cougars a 3-0 lead.
In the Cougars’ 2-1 overtime win over Concordia (Ore.), Leibbrandt beat the defense down the sideline and to the touchline before pulling back and sending a beautiful cross to a waiting Richie Craven, who one-timed it into the net for a 1-0 Cougar lead.
Then in the trip finale, Leibbrandt broke a 1-1 tie with a penalty kick in the 88th minute in a 2-1 win over No. 9 Simon Fraser.
An All-GSAC selection a year ago, Leibbrandt now has 5 goals and 4 assists (14 points) in 7 games this year. With 32 career points in less than a year and a half, Leibbrandt needs just 1 more point to climb into the top 20 of the Cougars’ career scoring chart.
