THIS YEAR: After 2 years of watching from the sidelines and recovering from injuries, sophomore Sadie Jewell finally takes the field for Azusa Pacific in 2007 … Plays an intelligent game and sees the field well … Should press for minutes as she adjusts to game speed.

HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated in 2005 from Granite Bay (Calif.) High, where she lettered 4 varsity seasons under head coaches Tiffani Geick and Chris Roberts … Was a 2-time All-Sierra Foothill League defender but sat out her senior campaign due to a knee injury … Helped lead the Grizzlies to 3 straight league titles and CIF San Joaquin Section Division II semifinal appearances.

PERSONAL: Dec. 16, 1986, in Granite Bay, Calif., to Thomas and Sherlene Jewell … Is an only child … Would like to become a veterinarian.
