THIS YEAR: Senior forward Mari Kasamoto returns to give experienced depth to the Cougars’ talented group of forwards … Has excellent technical ability … Is solid and makes few mistakes.

2006 (Redshirt): Was awarded a medical redshirt after suffering a season-ending injury in the second game of the season … Started the Cougars’ season opener, a 1-0 victory over Bellevue (Neb.).

2005 (Junior): Started 20 of the 21 games in which she played … Recorded 8 points as she had 3 goals and 2 assists … Had the game-winning goal against Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) giving the Cougars a 2-1 win which snapped the Blue Raiders 35-game home win streak … Tallied a score in a 2-1 Cougar victory over Notre Dame de Namur … Had her assists in key moments as each led to goals in a pair of 1-0 wins over California Baptist and San Diego Christian.

2004 (Sophomore): Appeared in 12 games as a 2004 sophomore and made 5 starts … Scored 2 goals … Had back-to-back games with a goal … Scored her first goal against Hope International in a 3-1 win … Followed up with another goal in the next game against Point Loma Nazarene, a 4-0 Cougar victory … Started the final 5 games of the season including the Cougars’ NAIA Tournament first round contest.

2003 (Freshman): Appeared in 19 of the Cougars’ 20 games making 1 start … Did not register a point on 3 shots.

HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped 4 seasons at Iolani High in Honolulu, Hawaii, for head coaches Kari Morioka and Sandy Hamura … Also played 1 season of basketball … Was a 4-time state champion at the club level with the Honolulu Bulls Soccer Club.

PERSONAL: Born April 22, 1985, in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Michael and Jocelyn Kasamoto … Has 1 sister (Jean), who played college soccer at the University of the Pacific … Majoring in liberal studies with a minor in psychology.
