THIS YEAR: Junior defender Lauren Vroom is 1 of 2 returning starters for a stingy Cougar defense that has allowed just 21 goals in 45 games over the past 2 seasons Is a tough 1-on-1 defender and a good passer Has a good understanding of the game.
2006 (Sophomore): Appeared in 13 games, starting 8 times Part of a defense that allowed fewer than 2 goals in 7 of the 8 games she started Took 3 shots in the Cougars season-opening 1-0 win over Bellevue (Neb.), putting 2 of them on goal.
2005 (Freshman): Started 21 of the 22 games in the defense for the Cougars Helped the defense post 14 shutouts Assisted on the Cougars lone goal in the Region II championship game win over Point Loma Nazarene, 1-0 Took 1 shot.
HIGH SCHOOL: Played 4 varsity seasons at Valley Christian High in San Jose, Calif., under head coaches Jolene Keel and Greg Dmitrovich Was named to the All-West Catholic Athletic League first team during her junior and senior seasons Earned an All-Central Coast section honorable mention after her senior year Led the Warriors to the Central Coast Division III championship as a junior Served as team captain for 2 seasons.
