AZUSA, Calif.-- The Azusa Pacific women’s soccer program is hosting the school’s first alumni game under the lights on April 13th. The match, which will include alums from the past three decades, including players from the Cougars’ 1998 NAIA National championship team, is slated for 7:30 p.m., immediately following the men’s alumni game.

“It’s great to have former players return to the campus and be with their teammates, and it’s good for the current players to put a name to the faces of those who helped build and shape Azusa Pacific soccer into what it is today,” said head coach Jason Surrell. “I’m excited to see everyone, and it’s always a great time.”

Since 1996 32 women’s soccer players have been named All-Americans, and two have been honored as NAIA National Players of the Year. The alumni team will face the current Cougar squad, and some of the 11 seniors that played in their final season last fall. Admission is free for the event.
