WHITTIER, Calif. -- Shannon Coe has had some terrific performances over the past several seasons. Her game against Chapman may rank up there with the best of them.

The senior forward had the second hat trick of her career as the NAIA’s No. 3-ranked Azusa Pacific defeated the Panthers 3-0.

The Cougars outshot Chapman 28-7 en route to their second win of the season. Coe led the way by consistently pushing the attack. She blasted home her first goal in the 17th minute to give Azusa Pacific a 1-0 lead.

In the 37th minute, Coe struck again scoring her second goal of the game and sending the Cougars into halftime with a comfortable 2-0 advantage.

She then completed her night by scoring off a feed from junior midfielder Jolie Nitta to make it 3-0.

Coe’s first hat trick came in 2003 against Hope International. She factored into all the goals that night with 3 scores and 2 assists in a 5-1 Azusa Pacific win.

Sophomore Jill Colfer recorded her first shutout of the season and the eighth of her career.

The Cougars (2-0) will be back in action Saturday, Sept. 10, when they take on Whittier College at 11 a.m.
