  • Cougars Kansas-Bound After First-Half FlurryNov. 7, 2006 | The NAIA's top-ranked Azusa Pacific scored its first 2 goals less than a minute apart to spark a 4-0 victory over No. 16-ranked Vanguard in the NAIA Region II championship Tuesday afternoon at Azusa Square, sending the Cougars to the NAIA Tournament in Olathe, Kan., with the region's automatic bid.

The win sets up a 1 p.m. rematch Friday afternoon at Azusa Square with No. 7-ranked Westmont, the only team to defeat the 16-1 Cougars this season.
