AZUSA, Calif. – Azusa Pacific’s Caleb Gervin and Kelsey Hudson were named the men’s and women’s GSAC Players of the Week, respectively, for their play last week.

Gervin continued his red-hot play last week, averaging 26 points, 5 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game as the Cougars won both of their GSAC games against Christian Heritage and The Master’s.

For the week, Gervin shot 17-for-30 (.567) from the field, including 8-for-15 (.533) from the 3-point arc, and 10-for-12 (.833) at the line.

In the Cougars’ 93-85 win at Christian Heritage, he scored a season-high 28 points for the third time this season, while grabbing 5 rebounds, dishing out 5 assists and collecting 2 steals. In the 90-86 win over The Master’s, Gervin recorded 24 points, 5 assists and 4 rebounds, including a pair of free throws with 9 seconds left to seal the win.

Hudson averaged 16.3 points and 6.7 rebounds while shooting 20-for-37 (.541) from the field as Azusa Pacific won 2-of-3 games last week.

In the Cougars’ 63-52 loss against No. 22-ranked Cumberland (Ky.) in the GSAC Challenge hosted by The Master’s, Hudson scored 17 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. In the 55-45 win at Christian Heritage, she had 10 points and 5 rebounds. She concluded the week with her second double-double of the seasons as she led Azusa Pacific to a 79-75 upset of No. 10-ranked The Master’s with 22 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals.
