Azusa Pacific has become the first school in NAIA history to place a team in all 6 NAIA fall championship events. Women's volleyball made it a perfect 6-for-6 by receiving an at-large bid into the NAIA Tournament.

Andriy Budnyy was named GSAC Player of the Year as announced by the conference this week while 3 of his teammates were named All-GSAC.

Shannon Coe was named GSAC Player of the Year and Jason Surrell was tabbed as the GSAC Coach of the Year as the NAIA's No. 1-ranked Azusa Pacific earned 6 All-GSAC selections.

Azusa Pacific senior forward Ian Leibbrandt was named NAIA Men's Soccer Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 4, 2005, as announced today by the NAIA.

The long chase is over. After 9 straight Top 10 finishes Azusa Pacific can finally say it is the best of the best. The Cougars have captured the 2004-05 Directors' Cup for the NAIA, signifying them as the top intercollegiate athletics program in the nation.

The NAIA Top 25 Coaches' Preseason Polls are out and Azusa Pacific, the reigning Director's Cup champion, is the only school in the nation to appear in all 6 polls.

On the strength of its men's and women's basketball postseason efforts, Azusa Pacific has regained the lead in the Directors' Cup standings and heads into the spring postseason with a 137-point lead.

For the first time in school history Azusa Pacific men's and women's basketball teams are playing on the same day in the "Sweet 16" of the NAIA Basketball Championship Tournaments. The 2 Cougars are playing Friday and the games are on the "Net."

For the first time ever, Azusa Pacific sits atop the Directors' Cup standings after scoring points in all 6 fall season sports, including a third-place showing in football. A perennial NAIA power, the Cougars have always been in the top 10 of the Director Cup but have never seen the view from the top perch until now.
