POMONA, Calif. -- Azusa Pacific continued its fine play, this time with a make-shift lineup as the NAIA’s top-ranked Cougars cruised to a 9-0 win over NCAA Division II-local rival Cal Poly Pomona Wednesday.

The Cougars improve to 9-1 overall and have run their winning streak to 9 straight. The Broncos are still in search of their first win of the season as they drop to 0-5.

The Cougars easily swept through doubles play, getting a pair of 8-3 wins at Nos. 2 and 3. Then, in singles’ action, the Cougars won 4 of the 6 matches in straight sets.

Playing in just their second matches of the season, Ryan Wagner and Jon Goodrich both collected wins to aid the Cougar victory. Wagner downed Tyrone Wang 6-2, 6-3 at No. 5, and Goodrich defeated Dustin Andolsen 6-2, 4-6, 10-2 at No. 6.
