SANTA BARBARA, Calif.-- For the third time this season the NAIA’s 7th ranked Azusa Pacific posted a 9-0 sweep, this time against Westmont on the road. The Cougars, who improved to 7-1, 6-1 in GSAC play, had just one singles match go to three sets and won every doubles contest by three or more games.

Emily Harris opened the day by posting a 6-0, 6-1 victory against Emily Keach in No. 3 singles, while Leah Hoffee improved to 8-0 on the year with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Tara Yekrang in the second position.

Nakieta Hein registered a 7-5, 6-1 defeat of Carolyn Stevens in the 4th spot and Danae Ingwaldson gave Azusa Pacific a 4-0 lead by taking down Alyson Meyer with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep in No. 5 singles.

Molly Ruby clinched the match with a 6-1, 6-1 victory against Sophia Meulenberg to improve to 3-0 on the season. Then with the match in hand Natalie McNall won a super-tie breaker 10-4 despite dropping the first set 1-6 in against Nicci Yvanovich (1-6, 6-1, 1-0 [10-4]).

In doubles Harris and Kim Koetterheinrich took out the Warriors’ top-team with an 8-5 win, while Ruby and McNall cruised to an 8-2 victory in No. 2 doubles. Hoffee and Ingwaldson moved to 5-1 on the year with an 8-1 defeat of Keach and Natalie Hart.

The Cougars play host to Biola on Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Munson & Bavougian Tennis Complex before hosting Mesa State (Colo.) next Wednesday.
