SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- It was pushed to the limit, but in the end the NAIA’s No. 4-ranked Azusa Pacific came through in a battle of Top 20 teams as the Cougars downed No. 19 Westmont, 6-3, in a GSAC match in Santa Barbara Saturday.

With the win, the Cougars improve to 9-2, 5-1. Westmont falls to 6-5, 4-3.

The Cougars took 2 of 3 doubles’ matches, winning at Nos. 2 and 3. They, then took 4 of 6 doubles’ matches to clinch the match and pick up their fifth straight win.

Playing against their former team, Lynn Quitoriano (No. 5) and Christiana Scolinos (No. 6) both picked up key wins in singles’ play. Quitoriano downed Gillian Ayres, 6-1, 6-1, and Scolinos downed Jenny Dunn, 6-3, 6-4.
