AZUSA, Calif. -- The NAIA’s No. 4-ranked Azusa Pacific took 2 of 3 doubles to get out to a quick lead and then held on for a 6-3 win over No. 13 Lewis-Clark St. (Idaho) in a match-up between Top 15 teams Wednesday in Azusa.

With the win, the Cougars improve to 11-2 overall. The Warriors fall to 7-6.

After Mayu Sato and Jennifer Dao downed Jana Puzova and Maria Resende, 8-0, at No. 1 doubles, Bay Daniels and Peggy Bell defeated Rachel Moorhead and former Cougar Hephzi Segura, 8-5, at No. 2 to give the Cougars a 2-1 lead.

Dao, Bell, Sato and Lynn Quitoriano then put the match away with wins in singles’ play. Bell, Sato and Quitoriano won in straight sets.
