POMONA, Calif. -- The NAIA’s No. 4-ranked Azusa Pacific swept all 3 doubles’ matches and then cruised through singles’ play to get a 9-0 win over NCAA Division II CS Bakersfield on the opening day of the Xenia Anastasiadou Tournament at Cal Poly Pomona Friday.

With the win, Azusa Pacific improves to 13-2 with its ninth straight win. CS Bakersfield falls to 1-7. The Cougars play Rollins (Fla.) tomorrow.

The Cougars made quick work of the Raodrunners, giving up just 4 points in the 3 doubles’ matches combined. Peggy Bell and Bay Daniels defeated Jennifer Paet and Brittany Alberg, 8-0, at No. 2.

In singles’ play, the Cougars cruised, winning all 6 matches in straight sets and surrendering just 9 points along the way.
