2007: Came to Azusa Pacific as a walk-on and produced a fine season in which he posted a career-best 11.08 for the third fastest 100 by a Cougar during the year ... Slowed late in the season by an injury that kept him out of the GSAC championships.

HIGH SCHOOL: Was a 3-sport standout at Northwest Christian School in Phoenix, Ariz. ... Ran just 1 season of track and yet as a 2005 senior was the state 2A champion in the 100 meters (11.17) and state runner-up in the 200 (22.82) ... Also anchored the Crusaders’ 4x100 relay to the state title, accounting for 28 of the Northwest Christian’s 47 points at the state meet ... Also lettered 4 years in basketball (guard) and 4 years in football (defensive back).

PERSONAL: Born Oct. 16, 1986, in Phoenix Ariz., to David (retired fireman) and Candy (retired policeman) Cruse ... Has an older sister (Kaci) ... Attended Glendale (Ariz.) Community College and Phoenix College for 1 year before transferring to Azusa Pacific ... Majoring in sociology ... Would like to be a firefighter.
