HIGH SCHOOL: Ran 3 seasons of track & field for head coach Tony Rodriguez at Tulare (Calif.) Western High … Picked up the decathlon as a 2007 senior and recorded a personal best of 5,505 points … Posted individual event bests of 11.53 (100m), 2:01.16 (800m), 137’ 4” (javelin) and 108’ 10” (discus) ... Also set the school record in the long jump at 20’ 1” … Led the Mustangs to 3 straight East Yosemite League championships … Also ran 2 seasons of cross country, clocking bests of 10:54 (2 miles), 16:45 (3 miles) and 17:03 (5K) … Was a member of 2 league championship squads.
