THIS YEAR: Sophomore Joey Rau looks to use his second collegiate season as an opportunity to press for GSAC honors in the pole vault.

2007: As a 2007 freshman, cleared a personal-best 13’ 0” in the pole vault in a meet late March at Point Loma Nazarene … Competed at the GSAC Championship Meet but did not clear a height.

HIGH SCHOOL: Competed in the pole vault during 2 seasons of track & field at Franklin High in Elk Grove, Calif. … Qualified for the CIF section championships as both a 2005 junior and 2006 senior … As a senior, finished third in the pole vault (13’ 0”) at the Delta League Championship Meet … Also earned a varsity letter in football (DB, WR).

PERSONAL: Born Sept. 7, 1988, in Sacramento, Calif. … Parents are Joe Rau (firefighter) and Marilyn Potter … Has a brother (Matt) and a sister (Danielle) … Majoring in psychology with a minor in biblical studies.
