Jesse Cops returns to his alma mater to serve his first year on the sports medicine staff at Azusa Pacific.

Cops joins Azusa Pacific with over a decade of professional experience, most recently spending a year (2013-14) as the head athletic trainer at Arizona Christian University after serving as assistant athletic trainer at Liberty University from 2006-13. He was also a graduate assistant at Boise State from 2003-06.

At Liberty, Cops worked with women's swimming and diving, men's soccer, wrestling, and men's and women's track and field, along with assistant duties for Liberty's football program in 2012-13. At Boise State, he worked with women's soccer, men's and women's tennis, wrestling, and football.

Cops graduated from Azusa Pacific in 2003 with a bachelor's degree in athletic training, and he received his master's degree in sports administration from Liberty in 2013.
