Former Azusa Pacific great Jill Baker enters her second season as a member of Chris Keife's coaching staff. The 2009 NAIA Player of the Year was a three-time first-team All-American from 2007-09, helping the Cougars to four consecutive 20-win seasons, including a quarterfinal appearance at the 2009 NAIA championship tournament.
Baker owns six Azusa Pacific records, including all-time kills (2,345), kills in a season (637), and kills in a match (37). Her 1,570 career digs are fifth most in school history, and the 2010 graduate ranks in the career-top 20 in every major statistical category at Azusa Pacific.
Following her collegiate career she played professionally in Switzerland for Volley Franches Montagnes for one year before taking over as the varsity volleyball coach at Georgiana Bruce Kirby College Prep in Santa Cruz, Calif. She also served as the coach for the Shoreline Volleyball Club in Santa Cruz, which posted a 14-1 record with her at the helm.
She is currently working on her master's in physical education along with a single subject teaching credential. Her and her fiance, Ryan Lipert, are set to marry in June, 2014.
