Students pursuing the Master of Arts in Leadership must complete 36 semester units of coursework. Up to six units of appropriate graduate work may be transferred into the program by petition. The interdisciplinary nature of the program provides the students with a general overview of the study of leadership. The final Capstone Project in Leadership allows the student to demonstrate their mastery of program competencies through a portfolio or develop a stand-alone project (after meeting certain course criteria). Students in the Leadership Studies emphasis will complete a thesis in lieu of a Capstone.
Most students are working adults and do not attend full time. Part-time students take at least three units every nine weeks. Academic advising is highly recommended to determine the course load required for students to finish in an ideal timeframe.
