Barbara Johnson brings a reality based approach to teaching social work curriculum, through service learning, group projects, case examples, and interaction with community based agencies. Her twenty-four year social work career has included children’s residential care placements, acute, long term, home health and hospice medical facilities, counseling and school settings. As part-time faculty, she maintains consulting contracts with area Acute Care Hospitals and several Skilled Nursing Facilities which enables her to bring in “real time” cases and keep up to date on policy, procedural, and legal changes in areas of practice that affect the social work profession.
