Catherine Fisher is an assistant professor and the assistant director of of field education for the MSW program, as well as a lecturer for the BSW program, at Azusa Pacific University. Throughout the year, she conducts field agency visits and meets with field instructors to ensure student field education meets the accreditation standards of the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). She also provides field seminar instruction for foundation and concentration year students. Her professional experience includes several years in child welfare settings with foster children, and serving as executive director for a non-profit youth center in Northeast Los Angeles. Most recently, Fisher practiced as a clinical social worker for Glendale Memorial Hospital. Her past academic experience includes serving as a field practicum liaison for the Graduate School of Psychology at Fuller Theological Seminary, and adjunct teaching for the BSW program at APU. In her personal time, Fisher volunteers with a faith-based network of churches serving the poor in the Eagle Rock area. She has a strong interest is strengthening partnerships between churches, government, and social service agencies to help address community needs. Fisher is a member of the National Association of Christian Social Workers (NACSW).
