Daniel W. Puls, Psy.D., is clinical director of the Azusa Pacific University Community Counseling Center. Dr. Puls earned his undergraduate degree from Concordia University in Irvine, California, preparing for a career in education. Following three years of teaching in Japan and four years of teaching in a Lutheran elementary school in Southern California, Dr. Puls felt the desire to enter into pastoral ministry or counseling work. He went to the Rosemead School of Psychology in the fall of 1992 and completed his graduate studies and training with an emphasis in child and family work, and he became licensed as a clinical psychologist in 2001. His professional experiences include work in private practice, community mental health, clinical supervision, psychological assessment and evaluation, mental health with prisoners, and teaching in seminars, conference workshops, and classes at the university level.
