Next Episode: Rez-life & Track
For those of you who don’t know, I was a Resident Advisor for the last two years in University Village. It was an AMAZING experience and with all the things I have done around campus, I feel I grew the most from it. I absolutely LOVED Res-Life and my residents (shout out to all those reading right now!). There’s something about seeing them struggle and lending them that helping hand, and then hearing “Oh Em Gee, you Saved my Life!” that just makes me feel amazing! I love helping and having the chance to be people’s hero. Maybe it was all those comic books and super hero tv shows that I watched as a kid.
However, two years of it just slightly burns you out. Being a complete servant, right on the front lines, so much fun, and gives you so much experience, but I didn’t feel that with this year, as busy as it was, that I would be able to give it my all without burning out. So instead of helping all of the residents, I decided I wanted to focus my efforts on helping the RA’s. So I applied for the Res-life intern position. This job put me in the place of Batman. When I was an RA, I was Superman on the front lines, but now I drifted behind the scenes, sat in my bat cave, and worked on helping out that way. To me, it was the perfect way to still help out around campus, and still focus on my own work. I got to work on a few posters, some post cards, took pictures with Santa, and more. It was and still is a great job, and next semester I hope to have time to put forth more effort into it, since the hard parts of school are already done.
Track & Field was a mess for me this semester. I somehow developed some sort of prolonged sickness when I was ill last year, and it clogged up my breathing passage. It wasn’t until halfway through the semester that I actually realized something was wrong an went to our on campus health center. They did some tests and found out that my breathing passage was only open at about 70%, making it harder to breath and making me tired all the time. I got a special inhaler and have felt 10 times better ever since.
As you saw in my post about Yosemite, our team this year is a rather close one. It is great to see the chemistry out there in practice, and I actually got a chance to go on a bonding road trip to our Cross Country Nationals in order to cheer them on. I am really excited to see what next semester will bring when season starts.

Do you know why your passage way was only open 70%? Is the special inhaler a prescription product or off the shelf / just curious because I have breathing problems sometimes.
I think it had something to do with me getting sick a few months back. I’m not entirely sure, but the new inhaler is fantastic! Flo something… I would definitely check in with your doctor about it. I got my prescription from our wonderful Dr. Emerson in our health center.
