Coffee is pure black. Not brown, tan or any other color. It’s black. Put just a few drops of cream in it, though and all of a sudden the color of the whole cup begins to change. Not just a part of the cup, but all of the coffee starts to change color. It’s noticeable. It doesn’t take much cream to change the color of the entire cup. Enough cream and the cup of coffee no longer even approximates black. It’s tan or even almost white. The cream has become so completely mixed with the black coffee that all of it is a different color.
The grace of Christ makes the color of your life completely different. When you invite Jesus to be a daily part of your life, likes drops of cream in a black cup of coffee, you become changed. Not just part of you, but all of you. It’s noticeable.
