Getting Up High

Every corner starts to look the same.  The intensity of traffic creates stress.  The anxiety of space creates claustrophobia. The press of people makes you weary.  You are in the middle of the city, among the streets, the people, the schedules and the frenetic pace.  Then you drive north – up into the mountains and maybe even take an off-road trail that winds upward high onto the ridge.  From there you see the whole valley.  You watch and you simply embrace the silence, the breeze and the view.  Suddenly all of the pressure from down there drains away and things come into perspective for you.  And you are rested.

Letting God lift you up high as you walk with Jesus will have the same effect.  You rise above your circumstances to you don’t have to live under them; you see the important things and aren’t pressured by the urgent ones.  It’s good to walk with Christ in getting up high.  Take some time and let God lift you up.  See how things look different.

If you have prayer requests, let me know.  Even though this is the last of the SoulQuest weekly emails until the Fall term begins, our Prayer Partners are happy to pray for you and will continue to do so through the summer.

May God bless you and your summer plans.

Kevin
