I’m at APU because . . . of a miracle. God wanted me here and the rad part about God’s plan is that you can’t really screw it up. He works how He wants, and I’m gonna guess that it is because He is the Almighty Creator of the Universe. But more practically, I’m here because the staff and students used their special powers to show me that the community of APU is the most awesomest (I know its not a word, or proper gramma, but I like it anyways) community anywhere. If you don’t want to be rocked by amazing people and experiences that will change your life and stay with you for all of it, don’t come here.

I believe . . . the only way to truly live is to die. The only way to be empowered is to humble yourself. The only way to lead is to serve. The only way to win a battle is to submit. A life lived for the Lord is radical and goes against all worldly definitions. Humility is key. Are you willing take everything precious to you and offer it to the Lord to do with it what He will? Are you willing to let the Lord completely break you? Well, that is the recipe for power. When you are willing to do that, you become a superpower able to do anything and everything through Christ who transcends worldly boundaries and logic (2 Timothy 1:7).

These things are important to me: Truthfully, the only thing that is truly important to me is giving all glory to the Lord. However, other things that are very big in my life are:

  • My Family – who has made me who I am today and have provided the greatest examples of Christ for me.
  • My Fiancé – the love of my life; somebody who has showed me the meaning of gentleness and authentic and intentional care.
  • The Alpha Program at APU – It has incubated my strong desire to go on to higher education and to one day work at a college developing student leaders. Plus, it is the place that I have met many of the most impacting friends and mentors of my life. and, it’s so darn fun!
  • My Roomates – They are pretty much they are the gnarliest bunch of guys on the planet. Shoutout to my boys Shawn and Jared, also known as Vons and Buzz!
  • Missions – My dad is very involved with missions and I have traveled a good amount with him. But remember, you don’t have to leave home to do missions.
  • Prayer – It’s the biggest value in my life.
  • Surfing – Well, lets just face it, it really is the greatest sport out there. I am really passionate in pouring my heart out for the surfing culture.
