Yodie Yo yo-yo…Hello!

Howdy friends…first off let me start by saying that I am so stoked to be blogging this year because this place is awesomer than the Keebler Elves (and they are pretty awesome…good cookies) AND, well, I like to tell stories. To formally introduce myself, my name is Jordan (if you feel like shaking an invisible hand, you are welcome to because I am right now) and I am a joyous senior from So Cal. I am a Youth Ministry major and a leadership minor, however, I am in my last semester *Tear* and have a pretty easy schedule consisting of only three classes. However, I am very involved with a lot of things on campus—the Alpha program (orientation program), intramurals, etc. So, if you want insight into what its like to be crazy busy with classwork, you might want to check out the other bloggers, BUT if you want to hear some random stories about college life—Check me out! (And they will be random). However, I am doing an intense senior seminar right now that I’ll probably write about. Yeuh!

Well, hmmm…what should I write about…Well, I am sitting in my Crestview apartment right now listening to my newly downloaded “Wicked” soundtrack…to be honest, I kind of feel like jumping up and breaking into a musical dance number, but I am committed to blogging and to you my readers and am going to keep on it! Okay, I just do a little one sitting down…ready…MUSICALFIED! Phew, that feels better. I am listening to it because I just saw the show last night in Hollywood. Sweet Alaskan asparagus tips! Soooooo good! I wanted to join the Wicked Witch of the West’s revolution! Best part about it—all FREE! My best friend got free tickets. I’m telling you guys, when you get into college you find tremendous appreciation for the concept of “free”!

Yeuh! My roommate Shawn just got home! I love this guy! He is rummaging through our messy fridge like a chimpanzee looking for bugs on another chimp’s back. Oh, he found some ingredients that will work together. Let me just say that I have the best roommates ever! It’s me, Shawn, Jared, Chad, and Owen. Okay, Shawn is a great guy who loves to just chill with you whenever, but he is good at like every sport so these last two years has been spent trying to find something I’m better than him at…Still no success. Jared, my bearded bro! He’s had a beard since he’s had a bellybutton—ya, like the doctor tied the cord and a beard just started growing! This is the intellectual of the group who will catch you off guard with hilarious comments. Chad, who also just got home, he’s sad right now cuz he just bombed a test, but after like 15 more Pringles I think he’ll feel better. That what you gotta do in college, everybody bombs a test sometime, you just gotta keep moving on—pringles help. Anyways, Chad is like one of my new best friends, this guys is so silly once you get to know him—a really nice guy and very musically talented—he plays guitar in chapel. Then, the famous O-town—I’m sorry but this is one of those guys that is incomprehensibly incredible—like if I tried to tell you, it would blow your mind—like your head would stay intact, but there’d be like brains spattered inside. Let me just say, he is the nicest guys you could ever meet, but he’s got another crazy, wild side that only a special few get to see. Then there’s me, the random fun guy who has a “little kid” personality. I’m excited about tomorrow night—every Thursday night we have “family” dinner—or roommate dinner.

The other special people that I have here include, first and foremost, my beautiful and magnificent fiancée Alex. You will be hearing a lot about her because…well…um…she is my fiancée and a therefore a huge part of my life! I love her very much. We got engaged about a month and half ago And yes, I met her here at APU! I met her freshmen year, doing the ambassador program (we worked the charades game together on preview day). Then after about a year of avid pursuit—I had to work for her—she finally said yes to the relationship and from that point on I’ve been ten feet off the ground all the time. She is a nursing major and very committed to it. Let me tell you aspiring nurses, if you are planning to be a nursing major—you have to be committed to be committed to it and you have to believe that you are supposed to do it to make it through, because it is tough! I seen quite a few nursing majors suddenly decide to change majors. Though, it is probably APU’s most prestigious program. The other people that are so special to me are the people that I’ve been lucky to be brought together with in the Alpha program—a program that will truly show you the strength that comes from genuine and real relationships. I’m actually an alpha counselor this year and have a group of leaders of my own and they are incredible---I am so lucky, they teach me so much!

Well, the rest of the day is going to be awesome for me, I having lunch with one of my alpha leaders today to hang out and talk, I’m having coffee with Stacie (another blogger) and my boss this afternoon, get to hang out with my fiancée and go to ultimate disc practice at 5. Tennis will probably be in there somewhere too.  Then late tonight I’m going to transform into Slash McHoberson, Shawn into Vons Ripperton, and Jared into Buzz Sawsemoff—thus meaning that we are going to spend the night at my house and surf in the morning. I’m a big surfer by the way—I actually went on a two month mission trip this summer to Sri Lanka and Indonesia and did some surf missions.

Well, I’ve really enjoyed this first blogging session, its been fun! It was random, like probably a lot will. I really am going to enjoy blogging, because to be honest, I am sad that this is my last semester, I really love this place, BUT I’m trying to live this last semester to the fullest, to really soak it in. Trying to be involved with a lot…do the things I always wanted to. I’m excited to share this stuff with you! You will hear a lot of different stuff from me—you’ll be hearing funny stories, my theological thinking and processes, and a bunch more stuff. Later gators…
