Hiking!
So it's a sunday and many girls from our group are gone for the weekend. It's Amanda, Lizzie, Sarah and I trying to figure out what we are going to do for the day. Lizzie opted to stay in regardless cuz she had a lot of homework to do. Procrastinator ya! lol we all fall victim to that :-p But yeah we knew that the rest of us wanted to get out but we didn't know what to do. Amanda's brother Cory called her up and asked her if she wanted to go hiking and that she could invite friends if she wanted, so we were down.
It was my first time meeting Cory, and he's a real fun guy to be around. He was taking us to this trail called Switzer Falls. The car ride alone was fun just because the whole time the music was background music from movies. So it actually felt like we were in a movie itself lol. The funny part was when we pulled into the parking lot for Switzer Falls trail, the music got all loud and powerful just like if we were in a movie :-p
The trail was absolutely amazing. A creek ran besides us on the trail and my favorite part of the trail was when we had to cross the creek using the rocks. It was a lil' adventure in itself.
We got to this one section of the trail that Cory was familiar with only when the creek was dry. It's where Switzer Falls is actually located. Since there was water we had to scale this huge rocky slope. That was soooo much fun! Intense but fun.
If we had fallen we would've either fell in the water, or even worse the "fall" part of it, which was more like a lagoon. Either way would've been bad lol.
After that we decided to go to Switzer viewpoint trail. Absolutely amazing. The views were incredible. It was so nice to be in nature. It's amazing how beautiful California is. I grew up in Oceanside, California and mostly experienced the beach aspect of it. But wow, it's so hard to believe that this was only 30 min. away from APU!
While we are on this trail it didn't dawn on us how far this thing goes. But who cares right? So we thought lol. Amanda, Sarah and I were like no are going to finish this thing. We don't like to leave things undone. We were determined... Can you tell by our faces in this picture? lol
Well good thing there was this guy on a mountain bike on the trail that passed by because I asked him how far this thing goes and he said about 6 more miles! lol. It was already about 4:00 pm by this time lol. So we turned around and went home.
It was an amazing experience and I can't wait to do this again!
