That means that I have three days left until my parents arrive for my Graduation from College! That is unbelievable, it doesn’t even feel possible! Of course, I’m going out with a bang…7 finals, I just finished my 4th one today…three more to go…ugh, I know, NEVER take 19 units your Senior Year. The senioritis makes it too hard to focus ☺
This last week we did a Final BBQ for a bunch of our friends, everyone came over and we made steak and potatoes and casserole, it was an actual home-cooked meal! It was lots of fun…messy and lots of dishes…but very worth it.

Anyways…my roommate, Sharon just turned 22 this weekend! So amidst all the final chaos we were able to take a break and celebrate her birthday! It was so fun, we went to TGIFridays and had dinner, then we did cake and gifts later except we are poor college students and didn’t have real candles…so we improvised haha!


Okay…enough procrastinating I have a final at 4 that I need to review for and a few more projects to finish…

]]> Tue, 29 Apr 2008 09:22:00 PDT http://www.apu.edu/blogs/lindsay/12269/ I have a World Geography paper due next week that will be my new focus this weekend and I have to turn in my Art Portfolio, now don’t think just because I said “art” that I am good at anything…its all “elementary” so it pretty much looks like I did it when I was in kindergarten haha.
Oh and I have to pick up my graduation cap and gown tomorrow! Its all so real now! CrAzY!??!?!?!
I know that it is important to get everything done, but my roomies and I are making time to enjoy our last few weeks as well. ☺
Me and the a few friends from work went to Bamboozled Left and saw Paramore and Jimmy Eat World and Dear and the Headlights…there were like 120 bands there! It was a music lovers heaven! We had the best time. We totally got stuck in the mash pit for Paramore by accident haha. Almost got crushed but we held our ground ☺ Made it out alive.


My roommates and I are getting all sentimental too, haha. We have been doing so many “family dinners” we all know its ending so we’re getting really sad and hanging out all the time ☺ which we all love!
A few nights ago we went to Chili’s and tonight we did a family fondue night. We had cheese fondue for dinner and of course, chocolate for dessert! So much fun!



Okay, enough distractions, I should get back to my California History Homework…which I must say if you have to take CA history you HAVE to take Professor Lamkin! He is the best professor ever, definitely a worthwhile class.
Okay…you will be hearing from this sentimental senior very soon.

March was super busy for the Admissions office and so now that April is here work should slow down a bit. But April is super busy for homework. I have a couple big papers due this month that I really need to get working on. Plus all those last minute Graduation projects and portfolios to turn in.
But the best thing is that a few friends and I are going to a huge concert this weekend! We are going to see Paramore, New Found Glory, Alkaline Trio, Dear and the Headlights…and bunches more. We are absolutely stoked…stay tuned for pictures!

]]> Tue, 01 Apr 2008 21:40:00 PDT http://www.apu.edu/blogs/lindsay/12132/ And there is no time to slip back into routine, classes start back up again tomorrow and we have our last preview weekend this Thursday and Friday, which means that Tuesday and Wednesday will be super busy for work.
Anyways, before I get stressed out talking about what I have to do, I’m going to tell you what I did over this break. It was so much fun, I got a lot done with my grad application. I went in for an interview at my credential school and finished up the applications. I have to take the CSET soon so I need to be studying for that…back to the fun stuff.
I got to hang out with a few of my girlfriends, we went out to downtown and had some ice cream and watched our friends band perform.

My brother and his girlfriend, Ashley made me dinner one night. So that was fun, we got to hang out and then later I went bowling with a few of my guy friends. I got killed, of course, but I was just glad I broke a hundred. Haha.



I got to hang with my parents, my dad and I made dinner together and my mom and I watched Enchanted, which if you have not yet seen it, you need to.
I love being home. It was so great seeing everyone and finishing up that credential stuff. Now I have one less thing to worry about.
All in all it was a very relaxing and fun break. But it’s time to dive right back in.

Work has been crazy, but hopefully it will be slowing down as spring break gets closer (only one week!?!?)
So Thursday I worked late, and right when I got home my roommates were all ready to go out to Pasadena for a girl’s night out. All seven of us went! It was so fun, we went to Twin Palms in Pasadena and of course 21 choices. Yum yum.

Then Friday night was the Alumni Initiation. 6 of the 7 roomies are graduating so we all went to the dinner. My roommate, Melissa was in charge of the whole thing she did a great job! We had a good dinner and then Melanie Wolf spoke as our keynote speaker. She did such a good job, she gave us advice and really put into perspective life after graduation. She wanted to give us a message of “hope”. Which is so funny because I was talking to my mom later that night and she told me how God’s plans are always bigger then my plans and I need to have faith in that. It just seems that I have been reminded recently of where I need to put my faith. I need to believe that after graduation I will be okay, that my life will work out exactly the way God has planned it to. I need to stop being nervous and believe in the hope and faith that Melanie and my mom spoke of. I need to trust. Anyways, she did a great job, it was just what all the Seniors needed to hear.


I mean I know I’m graduating, but now it seems so official!
Jon Wallace came up next and said a few things.
All in all it was a fun night. Afterwards I went mini golfing with my friends. I know so cool right? A graduating senior after contemplating her entire life after graduation decides to go play mini golf after…haha.
Yesterday was Missy’s birthday so we had a BBQ at the house and hung out with a few friends. Since we are all traveling to Europe this summer she got a travel journal and photo album for the pictures.
And as usual, after a many days of fun it has to stop at some point and today is my study day. I have two test Monday, Theory ☹ and Music Civilizations. I am obviously worried about theory…

So weird! This past weekend was my friend’s birthday so we stole her away and took her out to dinner at BJ’s. It was really fun and a great excuse to spend money.

Then Sunday I got to go to Laguna Beach to meet up with my friend from Oregon, I haven’t seen her in like a year and she is getting married in July so we got to chat for a while since she was in town. It was a beautiful day and perfect for the beach and probably the best sunset I have seen in a while.


Other then the fun stuff I kept myself busy…I have my Liberal Studies portfolio due in April and so I was busy finding all those papers and projects throughout the years I have done that need to be re-printed up for that lovely portfolio. I found everything though so that is one less thing I have to worry about. Now all I have to do is put it all together…one step closer to graduation.
I know I talk about graduating all the time but its becoming official now because I have an interview for Credential School when I go home for Spring break.
O geez…
Oh and good news! I just bought my tickets to go to Europe this summer with my roommates! We are going to Italy, Austria, Germany, Spain and France and I am absolutely stoked!

Last year Biola gave us a good run for our money, we ended up beating them in the last few seconds. It was a terribly intense game.
This game was just as exciting…Our girls team kicked butt! We dominated the entire game. My roommate was on fire and made 12 points (about) She also got charged by one of the Biola girls and ended up with a bloody cut. EWWWW! But she went right back in, what a stud ☺

The guys game was a little different, it was literally back and forth the entire game! It was super intense!!! I can’t wait for the game at Biola, it should be crazy!!!
Something fun to look forward too ☺
We won by ten…but those boys like to make it a tense game! Haha!

But this weekend my roommates and I went to Arizona. My friend, Jen (who I met here freshman year) got married last year and so we went out to visit her. It was fun to get together after not having seen her for almost a year! We hung out, stayed up late. She bought a house so we went and saw that…still being built. Watched movies and of course…did Homework. (go figure) She is in grad school and we all are graduating soon so we all have so much homework.



I’m in art…and I am probably the worst artist out there. But the class is fun. Music theory is really making me work, but I’m understanding it. I love my history classes (surprisingly) History is not usually my favorite, however both of these classes are totally fun! Professors really help with that.
Anyways…back to Arizona. Great way to spend a three day weekend. Back to reality today though…haha been working on homework and tomorrow is my long day.
I am on campus Tuesdays from 8 to 10:30 PM!!! Two three hour classes in a row. Yea I know, crazy. But I’m graduating so I can afford to be crazy.

I am for certain classes, there are those few that I completely dread because of the work load. Although it is also depressing because this is my last semester and I find it weird that I won’t be registering for classes anymore…
Anyways! Break was wonderful, I got to hang out with my good friends and relax. I read a few books…for FUN! (go figure).
Mainly my friends just relaxed at home or went out for food, haha some things never change. We were all pretty dead from out classes…but we had tons of fun of course.


Then there was Christmas. My mom and I went with some of our friends to go see the Nutcracker. It was so good! My friend’s sister was in it, so we all enjoyed that.

My family has a few fun traditions. My mom always makes us sticky buns on Christmas Morning. Oh my gosh, one of the many reasons I miss home! Hehe. So that was delicious ☺ We all opened our stockings first…and of course we were still in our pjs because who wants to get ready for the day when they can open presents?!

We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas with the Family. Christmas Eve is always with my Dad’s side and Christmas is always with my Mom’s. It is always a whole day event, we usually consists of the adults catching up and the kids playing games, or watching the new movies we got for Christmas. One tradition we have is my Mom always plans a game for the Family to play together. We did a movie trivia quiz (girls verses guys) on Christmas Eve…guess who won ;)

and we did a Bible puzzle on Christmas. It was this kind of like a word search, only ten times more difficult! Nate and my cousin won that game.

We had so much fun! I absolutely loved being home for break…but it was also nice to come home (well I mean back to APU). Anyways…some highlights this break-kareoke with friends (embarrassing moments are always highlights)-movies with the gang-card games with the family-greys anatomy season 3-christmas in the park(yea bay area!)-all in all it was a wonderful two weeks.

Then I came back here for New Years, figured it was my last one to spend down here so may as well stay. So that last week was pretty much chill, waking up late, going to lunch with friends, catching up with everyone I missed over break (you’d be surprised how attached you get to your roommates) hehe.
But gotta hit the ground runnin’…my time here is running out so I’m going to enjoy every second of this last semester!

]]> Wed, 09 Jan 2008 20:46:00 PST http://www.apu.edu/blogs/lindsay/11503/ I thought finals week was going to be somewhat of a break considering three of my five finals were last week. Unfortunately, that has not been the case. But tomorrow is my last final and than I am free for Christmas! Yeay!
Anyways, last week I got to celebrate a few birthdays. A bunch of my friends and I went out to breakfast at Flappy Jack’s (one of the best places in town!)

It was the best start to a day that included two finals. Later on that night we all got to relax and go out to dinner to celebrate a little more, however that did not last long considering it was the week before finals and all of us had papers.

So I had a busy day Monday of work and hanging with my boss. We went out and got some pedicures, nice escape from the crazy life of school. Tuesday I turned in my Senior Thesis…huge relief…and had my guitar final. Which, by the way, I am terrible at! Piano, I can do, but guitar…wow, I can confidently say I am the worst. Surprisingly I did a lot better than I thought on that, and now I am down to one final tomorrow morning!
In the midst of all this my roommates and I were able to do our Christmas gift exchange. We had picked Secret Santa’s a few weeks ago and exchanged gifts this past weekend. We had so much fun guessing who gave who what. My roommate Lindsay made me a blanket…SO WONDERFUL!!! I am the queen of cuddling up to keep warm, hehe, she knows me too well.

So tomorrow after my final I head home to see the family for Christmas! Should be a fun break…I could really use a break.
