More Hours in a Day

Hey everyone,

Ok, so this year I feel like there are not enough hours in the week. Living in Smith has to be one of the most exciting and unforgettable experiences in my life. And since finals are two weeks away, I can hardly believe how amazing first semester has been! It feels like, most of the event I have talked in previous blogs happened just last week.

I have been working really hard on having my grades good enough that i'm not pressured to do amazing on my finals to still have a good grade. Biology is so hard though. I took AP chemistry in high school so I feel very knowledgeable when it come to chemistry, but biology is so much reading and so many different factors, process, and functions. It is a good thing this is what I love to do or else this would be such a painful college experience. Science Major work really hard, not to discredit what others do. But i'm always juggling homework, work, studying, and somewhere inbetween there friendships.

One thing I'm really thankful for is being in LAC. It is a blessing being chosen as a freshmen leader for our wing of smith hall. I feel like the five other guys i'm LAC with are quality guys that I can really come to and keep each other accountable. It is really encouraging to know and meet guys who have a heart for God like I do. It is a hard thing to find, but here at APU I have meet so many "on fire for god" Christians.

ok well I will try to update everyone. Pray for me because finals is going to be crazy, and I have a lot of studying and other things to do. Thanks.

Always,

Flag Football Smith Spartans

Hi Everyone,

This has to be one of the most action packed events here at APU. Each semester, students can be part of an intramural team, and I happened to pick flag football. A bunch of guys in Smith made an all freshmen team called the Smith Spartans. It is really awesome because we are able to unite as a hall and meet on a wednesday or thursday night and plays some old fashion football. The best part is that we can become very intense and really get into the game, without having to worry about getting injuried. We started off the season winning, but we have lost the past few games. We have some good players but when we played the senior defending champs yesterday, I thought we would be crawling off the field. There was a senior that looked like he could benchpress the whole team.

Well, we stepped out onto the field and gave them everything. I think the final score was 6-28. So we really lost, but most of all we had fun. We are freshmen, honestly, in a few years we will be as strong as big as them. But by the last few minutes they we beginning to knee the ball to just end the plays, but we told them to keep on playing. Phil, one of our quaterback shouted out, " Hey don''t stop playing! When Smith Boys lose, they lose strong!!" It was so funny, and on that play he caught an interception. They are great times and even though we lost, they are everlasting memories of college.

The best part is in our huddle before and after games we have our teammate Jared shouts out, "Spartans, what is your profession?!" and we reply "Ahooh!!!" just like in the movie 300.
