Target has been awarding Team Leaders as Business Owners grants to the management program for several years. This year, the Target grant provided $1,000 scholarship money to students in the Young Executive Master of Arts in Management program.

After a visit from Target representatives, the class was presented with a current organizational improvement objective. Previous competition topic areas included employee performance and development; however, this year, our students competed on two new cases - Connecting with Multicultural Shoppers and The War for Guests.

In groups, students developed innovative strategies that drove company-wide organizational objectives and designed a plan from implementation to execution and measurement. The students proposed projects that demonstrated the ability to have a significant impact on business result and then present their performance improvement solutions to Target executives.  This wonderful opportunity allowed for our Master of Arts in Management students to use the skills they have learned in the classroom!

After much deliberation, the Target executives decided on a winner and runner up and awarded the first place winners with a $1000 scholarship.
