The second conversation for the Summer Lecture Series is with artist and filmmaker John Frame.
John Frame has been working on an ambitious project, The Tale of the Crippled Boy, for the last six years that brings conceptual, expressionist and craftsmen artistry together, all guided by intuition. He has created a world from wooden and found objects resulting in a feature length collection of animated and live film vignettes.
Frame's work has been exhibited extensively in the United States as well as in Europe, Japan, and China. He holds a MFA from Claremont Graduate University and a Honorary Doctor of Arts from Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle. He has been awarded grants and fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the J. Paul Getty Museum, among others.
