Deborah Haarsma, president of BioLogos, and Hugh Ross, president and founder of Reasons to Believe, will present “Gracious Dialogue in the Church about Creation and Evolution.”

Ross is an astronomer, and his organization is dedicated to demonstrating the compatibility of science and Christianity. Ross earned a B.S. in Physics at the University of British Columbia, and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Astronomy at the University of Toronto. While in college, he dedicated himself to faith in Christ following an in-depth study of Scripture that convinced him of the Bible’s factual accuracy. Ross is the author of multiple books (such as Why the Universe Is the Way It Is) and speaks on science-faith issues to audiences around the world.

Haarsma is a frequent speaker on the harmony of science and Christian faith. She is the author of Origins: Christian Perspectives on Creation, Evolution, and Intelligent Design with her husband, Loren Haarsma, and the editor of Delight in Creation: Scientists Share Their Work with the Church with Reverend Scott Hoezee. Prior to joining BioLogos in January 2013, Haarsma was professor and chair of physics and astronomy at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She earned a Ph.D. in Astrophysics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and has published several research articles on extragalactic astronomy and cosmology.
