The Review of Artistic Comptencies (RAC) and Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Visual Art portfolio applications are due this Spring 2014 semester on February 28, by noon to the Art and Design Office.
About RAC: The RAC was begun as a way to measure a student’s declared professional goals against the strengths and weaknesses of completed artwork through the sophomore year. All students must complete a RAC Portfolio Review in order to be admitted into 300 and 400 level art classes for the following semester. The RAC is also a requirement for graduation.
About BFA: The Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Visual Art is the professional undergraduate degree that is highly desired by serious students intent on pursuing careers or advanced degrees in the visual arts. All art majors take the first 18 units of the core classes in art and then apply to enter the BFA by portfolio review.
