APU Women in Science: Panel Discussion and Livestream

Wednesday, Feb 19, 2014, 5–8 p.m.

Posted by: College of Liberal Arts and Sciences

Join us for a panel discussion for Women in Science! This is your opportunity to engage with APU professors, doctors, and other medical professionals from the community to ask questions, share stories, and discuss some of the biggest issues facing women in the STEM field: graduate and medical school, family, pay equity, leadership roles – it’s all on the table. Both men and women are welcome to come and join this important discussion.

As part of this special event, we will be featuring a live-stream of the Take the Lead Challenge Launch at the University of Arizona with keynote speaker Sheryl Sandberg, Facebook COO and author of Lean In.

Take The Lead is an exciting new organization that prepares, develops, inspires and propels women to take their fair and equal share of leadership positions. The Take The Lead Challenge Launch is designed to inspire women to step into their own power and to close the pay and leadership gaps in all sectors of today's world.

Our panel discussion aims to begin conversation around these issues and more with honest dialogue between students, faculty, and women in the medical community.
