Hosted Webinar: Work Smarter, Not Harder: Online Teaching Strategies that Help Manage Your Workload | Innovative Teaching & Tech
Posted by: Center for Teaching, Learning, and Assessment
In the always-on, 24/7 world of online teaching, students can request feedback or have questions at any hour of the day or night and often expect an immediate response from you, the instructor. If you teach part or all of your class online it may seem like an impossible task to balance your personal life and your work life due to your workload demands, the 24/7 online environment, or your ability to create presence online. This presentation provides course design and facilitation strategies to help you manage your online workload by working smarter. You will assess instructor cases using a template to identify teaching tasks and prioritize time.
At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Analyze case stories from online instructors to determine potential workload challenges or problem areas
- Develop design, support, teaching, and time allocation strategies for managing workload in the online environment
- Create and/or use a template to identify your online teaching tasks and prioritize your time
