Laurie Schreiner, PhD, "Nurturing a Diversity Sensitive Environment Through Thriving Research"

Student success in higher education is about more than just surviving to graduation; it’s also about thriving--getting the most out of the college experience and vitally engaging in the learning process in and out of the classroom.  Yet the latest research on student thriving conducted by APU faculty and doctoral students indicates that students of color have different pathways to thriving than majority students on predominantly white campuses.  Based on this research with over 30,000 students in 150+ universities, this session will explore together the key pathways that enable diverse students to fully come alive while in college and gain maximum benefit from their investment in a college education.
