"The Diversity Dashboard: An overview of the academic quality and reputation dashboard's diveristy component."

This Faculty of Color Network presentation will highlight the various aspects of the APU University Diversity Dashboard. In the fall of 2012 Azusa Pacific University’s Provost Mark Stanton began an initiative to improve the overall academic quality and reputation of the university. The initiative involved 11 taskforces encompassing the entire scope of the academic enterprise, including areas such as student success, student selectivity, faculty satisfaction, and diversity. By the spring of 2013, these taskforces had all produced reports that identified several key performance indicators within each area, including baseline and target performance metrics. The academic quality and reputation dashboard was created to display these metrics and provide the university with a useful tool that supports informed decision making in the areas of key performance indicators. This dashboard is a tool used by key institutional stakeholders and decision-makers such as the Board of Trustees, the Academic Cabinet, and the President’s council to monitor progress on all of the areas identified by each taskforce. This presentation outlines some of the lessons learned through the execution of the initiative and ways in which the dashboard is contributing to keeping APU on track for improving its academic quality and reputation, specifically in the area of diversity.
