INFORMED REFLECTION
Faith Integration and the Use of Academic Resources
Presented by Dr. Paul Kaak, Executive Director, Office of Faith Integration & Michelle Spomer, M.Div., M.L.I.S., Theological Librarian
This session will guide faculty in the identification and use of scholarly resources for their work in academic faith integration. Because faith integration requires engagement with discipline-specific materials, as well as interdisciplinary materials, determining what is appropriate for course preparation, classroom use, scholarship, and professional practice sets up an intellectual challenge. Participants at this workshop will be provided with numerous ways faculty use academic resources in faith integration, receive multiple examples, and acquire introductory guidance for using sources in transdisciplines such as theology and Biblical studies.
Introduction to key access points within APU’s theological library will also be discussed, offering participants immediate access to material resources on our campus and virtual resources via our vast academic databases.
