"Experiment with an Air Pump" follows characters in two time periods (1799 & 1999) who live in the same house. Both groups of characters face ethical dilemmas in relation to medicine and genetics. The play explores the use of human subjects for the advancement of science and the responsibility of limits of science. Join us as we explore the ways in which theater can be a platform for discussions of science.
The reading of "Experiment with an Air Pump" will be followed by a discussion of the play led by Dr. Rachel Tracie from Theater Arts and Dr. Sarah Richart from Biology & Chemistry.
