The Department of Art and Design is pleased to present an exhibition and lecture by artist José Fernandez. José is a fine artist but is mostly known for his work as a costume designer in Hollywood.
José Fernandez began his career in film in 1989 as a sculptor for the legendary Rick Baker on the motion picture “Gremlins.” Throughout the 1990s, Jose developed his craft and built a respected reputation as a lead sculptor on such films as “Godzilla”, ‘Men in Black” “Alien III” and “Bicentennial Man” He has created many movie superhero suits / costumes including: "Batman", "Spiderman", "Catwoman", "Thor", "Wolverine" and many more. Jose is also the creator of the Daft Punk helmets and costumes for Will.i.am. More of José's work can be found at: www.ironheadstudio.com/
