Workshop Description:
Understanding Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) can be overwhelming. This workshop will provide an overview of the IEP development and assessment process and is open to new and aspiring teachers. It will address questions such as: What is a S.M.A.R.T. goal? What is an Individualized Transition Plan (ITP)? Why do we assess students before placing them into special education? Who plays which role in the process?
Speaker: Richard Homutoff
With more than 20 years as a special educator, Richard Homutoff is currently the Special Services Coordinator for Redlands Unified School District. He has served as a moderate to severe disabilities K-transition levels Education Specialist, adjunct faculty for Azusa Pacific University, and is a former administrator for Azusa Unified School District.
