One of the ongoing challenges for faculty is how best to engage students during class instruction. From learning science, we know that students who are actively engaged during class not only learn more but also persist in completing the course. Live polling tools facilitate active learning during class by asking students questions about course content, allowing them to test their knowledge and understanding.

In this workshop, faculty will learn how to set up a live polling, write engaging questions, examine collected data, and other best practices. We will explore free live-polling tools such as Kahoot and allow you an opportunity to practice using them. These tools allow every student to quickly participate anonymously and can be used for individual or group assessments.
