Much of what Christian universities have inherited related to faith integration in the classroom is focused on Christian undergraduate students. Today, however, many faculty at places like APU serve adult learners in undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate programs. In these classes, our students are professionals and pre-professionals and folks who have rich life experience, not to mention individuals who haven't embraced the Christian faith. With such learners, our pedagogy (called "andragogy" in adult ed) must be shifted. So must faith integration. Assumptions cannot be made, educational goals must be owned, and faith perspectives need to be solidly linked to class content. This workshop, for faculty whose course load includes professional preparation programs, will offer some guidelines and practices for meaningful faith integration with adults.
