Why you work at APU: I love the college beast.

Jamie Noling

Associate Campus Pastor

Jamie Noling comes from Gordon College, where she directed student ministries. A native Californian, Noling earned her M.A. in theology from Fuller Theological Seminary and B.A. in communication from Pepperdine University. She has worked in Christian higher education for the last six years. Noling is currently working on her Doctor of Ministry at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.

Favorite frozen treat: Ben ‘n’ Jerry’s Cherry Garcia Frozen Yogurt. I LOVE IT!
Favorite thing to do on a sunny Saturday: Go to the beach
Favorite thing to do on a rainy Saturday: Staying cozy inside, watching girlie movies with friends, and sipping an enormous mug of coffee
Favorite place in the (626): That’s hard. I love downtown Pasadena. I love the bookstore at Fuller Seminary. I love Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf in Monrovia. I love my apartment and the view of the bright pink mountains at sunset. And, well, of course I love, love, love APU.
Would you rather be hot or cold?: Hot. For sure
Can you rollerblade? Nope. Not even a little bit. In college my roommate and I went rollerblading in Santa Monica. She had these super nice rollerblades and I had the really cheap variety. She was putting virtually no effort into her long strides, whereas I, drenched with sweat and about 15 paces behind her, found that even the slightest glide was belabored. This van load of men even leaned out of their van, mimicking me, laughing and pointing. Haven’t touched a pair of rollerblades since—I’m too traumatized.
Summer Olympics or Winter Olympics? I love the Olympics—either summer or winter. But given the choice, I’d say summer. I swam competitively growing up, and well, when else but the Summer Olympics can I watch competitive swimming on TV?
Speak any other languages? Absolutely not. My college friends are still making fun of me for thinking that “Kein Durchgang” is a city in Germany. Turns out that it wasn’t the name of a city we passed through on the train that night, just a “No trespassing” sign near the tracks.
Fruit or vegetables? Fruit. The only vegetables I like are avocados and tomatoes, but wait...those are fruits too, aren’t they?
Why you work at APU: I sensed God calling me here. And, I’m sure glad He did! I love the innovative spirit about this place. It’s a hospitable community, committed to a holistic pursuit of faith. I am so impressed with the people I know at APU.

White or wheat? Sourdough
Speak any other languages? Un poquito de español (Spanglish)
Fruit or vegetables? Both—but no peas or bananas
