Church Listing

We have tried to identify the historical context of various denominations to help you navigate our diverse community. We encourage you to take some time to locate your own tradition within the larger body of Christ, and prayerfully ask God to show you what you might learn from the streams with which you are unfamiliar; you will likely discover some valuable insights to incorporate into your own worldview and spiritual practices. There are also many opportunities on campus to experience and practice all of these dimensions of the Christian faith.

Please click on the denominational headings below for a listing of local churches within that tradition. The attached lists are not meant to be exhaustive, but only meant as a list of suggested places to start. While each church has been placed in general denominational categories, the title of the church may not represent the specific convention, conference, gathering, or strand of a denomination from which the church comes.

On each list we have also noted which churches are located within 10 miles of APU’s main campus, as well as churches that provide transportation to and from campus (please see updated transportation schedules posted in residence halls on campus). We have also noted which churches have active ministries specifically for college-age students.

Remember, no church is perfect, and the vitality of any given congregation may change from year to year. While each of the listed churches has been observed or recommended, APU never endorses a particular church or leadership permanently. Please be wise and discerning about what is communicated and what is practiced in any church you consider attending.
