Crime Awareness Bulletin September 8, 2006
This shall serve as a community awareness bulletin to notify all that there was an attempted robbery that occurred near campus. The incident occurred across the street from the APU West Campus on 09/06/06 at approximately 8:45 pm. The incident involved three male subjects, one using brass knuckles against the victim. The suspects approached the victim initially in a vehicle. As a result of the incident, the victim was transported to the hospital for injuries sustained during the incident. The Azusa Police Department was notified concerning the incident. The supects are described as male Hispanics, all were between the ages of 17-19, one subject had a tattoo on his lower back with the words “WAR.” The vehicle the suspects drove up in was a: Black Audi - no plate obtained It is recommended to all students, to be cautious in and around campus, especially in your living area. It is recommended that the following be adhered to: Here are a few quick tips for personal safety: • Report suspicious people to the Department of Campus Safety, (626) 815-3898. • Avoid places where you are vulnerable and there are no exits. • Do not hesitate to call Campus Safety or 911 when strangers confront you. • At night, walk in groups of at least two people or call (626) 815-3805 for a Campus Safety escort. • Utilize the University trolley system for escorts between campuses. |
